Nevertheless the Orange County Commissioners wish to
encourage the Town of Chapel Hill to add to your already ambitious affordable housing work program the topic
of affordable units in station areas.
With stops coming at Hamilton Road, Woodmont, and Gateway, presumably there will be opportunities
for the community to identify ways to expand the affordable housing stock at these key locations. The Town of
Chapel Hill of course has the lead within its jurisdiction, but the Board of Commissioners stands ready to work
with you to advance the goal of improving affordable housing at these sites. We believe that staff from
Triangle Transit and Durham City- County Planning would also be willing to assist with this effort.
Best,
Barry Jacob:
Orange Cou
cc: Roger Stancil
air
oard f Commissioners
www.co.oran,qe,nc.0 s
Protecting and preserving — People, Resources, Quality of Life
Orange County, North Carolina — You Count!
(919) 245 -2130 • FAX (919) 644 -0246
