The Department of Social Services has received additional revenues for the <br />following programs: <br />• Juvenile Crime Prevention Council (JCPC) — State pass- through funds, <br />totaling $7,840 for agency disbursement. <br />• Child Day Care — additional State revenue of $165,205 to provide childcare <br />services and subsidies to low- income families. The State assessed year -end <br />estimates and reallocated unspent funds to jurisdictions, like Orange County, <br />that would benefit from an increased allocation. <br />• Smart Start Enhancement Program — receipt of $24,269 for Smart Start <br />Subsidized Child Care program administration. The department will pay <br />program funds directly to childcare providers. <br />This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these additional funds. (See <br />Attachment 1, column 1) <br />2. Several changes have occurred in the administration of the Criminal Justice <br />Partnership Program (CJPP). Over the last ten years, there has been a dedicated <br />position for this activity with funding from the State, as well as Chatham and Orange <br />
