Public Comments <br /> 41 a. Matters not on the Printed Agenda <br /> 42 Hank Elkins, referring to the green handout sheet, spoke on behalf of the Orange <br /> 43 County Peace Coalition. He said $480 million of taxpayer money has gone to Afghanistan and <br /> 44 Iraq, which is $3500 for every person in the county. He said jobs have been created over there <br /> 45 but questioned how many jobs have been created in Orange County. He compared the dollars <br /> 46 invested in education versus the amount spent on military funding and said twice as many <br /> 47 education jobs could have been created. He said the Orange County Board of Commissioners <br /> 48 knows what Orange County needs — money for education; affordable housing; health; and <br /> 49 entities that are investments in real security. <br />
