Also, the text says that Attachment 1 is a map of the proposed new South Orange <br /> 16 Fire Service District, but actually it is a map of the New South Orange Fire Insurance District. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 Pages 2 and 3 - Southern Triangle Fire Service District <br /> 19 Last paragraph on page 2 (which continues to the top of page 3) - The text refers to "the area in <br /> 20 yellow" but it is not clear where that area might be on the maps included in the agenda <br /> 21 materials. It is also not clear why Attachment 2 is referenced at the top of page 3. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 Second full paragraph on page 3 (which is also the last paragraph for this fire district) - <br /> 24 The New Southern Triangle Fire Service is not the same as the New North Chatham Fire <br /> 25 Insurance District because the latter includes the Damascus fire district. My question here is <br /> 26 what is the status of the Damascus fire district? Is it still a fire protection district? <br /> 27 <br /> 28 Pages 3 and 4 - Greater Chapel Hill Fire Service District <br /> 29 First paragraph - It is not clear why the following statement is made: <br /> 30 "...the net impact for the new North Chatham Fire Insurance District is a revenue increase of <br /> 31 $276,025 from $1,706 to $277,731." <br /> 32 <br /> 33 Page 4 - "Listed below are actions that need to be taken before three (3) new Fire Service <br /> 34 Districts can be created and included in the County's Fiscal Year 2013/2014 annual budget." <br /> 35 Third bullet in the paragraph that begins with the sentence given above - This bullet is <br /> 36 "Approval by the State Fire Marshal's Office." <br /> 37 It was my understanding that this approval would not come until sometime in the fall, and yet <br /> 38 the Commissioners are scheduled to approve the 2013/2014 budget in June. My <br /> 39 understanding was that the bullet should say "Submission for approval by the State Fire <br /> 40 Marshal's Office." Please clarify what this bullet means. <br /> 41 <br /> 42 General Comment <br /> 43 If I understand correctly the intent what is being proposed, the boundaries for the new South <br /> 44 Orange fire service district and fire insurance district are the same, and the boundaries for the <br /> 45 new Greater Chapel Hill fire service district and fire insurance district are also the same. <br /> 46 However, it appears that the text of the agenda abstract does not always make that clear, and <br /> 47 that therefore the text should be revised in the interest of greater clarity. <br /> 48 <br /> 49 (III) RECOMMENDATIONS - Pages 4 and 5 of the agenda abstract <br /> 50 <br />
