ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br />Meeting Date: June 11, 2013 <br />Action Agenda <br />Item No. 5 <br />SUBJECT: Follow -up Discussion of the Manager's Recommended FY 2013 -18 Capital <br />Investment Plan (CIP). <br />DEPARTMENT: Finance and Administrative PUBLIC HEARING: (Y /N) No <br />Services <br />ATTACHMENT(S): <br />Revised FY 2013 -18 Capital <br />Investment Plan Pages <br />(New Pages Printed on <br />Buff Colored Paper and <br />Changes Highlighted in <br />Yellow) <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Frank Clifton, County Manager <br />(919) 245 -2306 <br />Clarence Grier, Finance and <br />Administrative Services, <br />(919) 245 -2453 <br />Paul Laughton, Finance and <br />Administrative Services, <br />(919) 245 -2152 <br />I <br />PURPOSE: To continue discussion and provide staff direction on the Manager's <br />Recommended FY 2013 -18 Capital Investment Plan (CIP) during the budget work session. <br />BACKGROUND: The FY 2013 -18 Manager's Recommended Orange County Capital <br />Investment Plan (CIP) was presented to the Board of County Commissioners on March 12, <br />2013 and follow -up discussion occurred as part of the April 11, 2013 and May 9, 2013 work <br />sessions. <br />Based on feedback and direction from the Board of County Commissioners during the work <br />sessions, the following projects have been revised from the original projects submitted at the <br />March 12, 2013 Manager's Recommended CIP presentation: <br />County Proiects <br />Whitted Building (C /P Page 28) — moved construction funds of $1,400,000 from FY 2015 -16 <br />(Year 3) to FY 2013 -14 (Year 1), and reduced the costs of design work from $150,000 to <br />$100,000 <br />Southern Library (C /P page 19) — moved professional services cost of $525,000 from FY 2015- <br />16 (Year 3) to FY 2016 -17 (Year 4) and moved construction funds of $3,500,000 from FY 2016- <br />17 (year 4) to FY 2017 -18 (Year 5) and $3,500,000 from FY 2017 -18 (Year 5) to Year 6.
