I have also attached current photographs of the house and a vicinity map <br /> showing the location of Chatwood. <br /> Description and Summary of Changes. The description of Chatwood contained in the Registration <br /> Form, dated June 1988, remains an accurate portrait of the site today. There has been one <br /> significant change to the house since the form was completed. The Naile Johnson wing, an early <br /> 19th century house which was appended to the main house in 1938, included a full-width screen <br /> porch. Today, the porch is enclosed, with full-length, twelve-over-twelve pane windows on the <br /> south facade,three nine-over-nine pane windows on the west facade, and two nine-over-nine's and <br /> an entrance door on the east facade. The windowed porch remains very much an open, light- <br /> gathering space;therefore,it does not seriously alter the attributes of the 1938 addition. <br /> The Chatwood estate is well-maintained by the current owners,who have consented to the HPC's <br /> proposal to pursue landmark designation.
