2 <br /> Resolution <br /> Habitat for Humanity of Orange County,NC "Celebrate 2000" Millennium Event <br /> WHEREAS,on April 7, 1998,Habitat for Humanity presented a proposal to the Orange County <br /> Board of Commissioners for a community-wide Millennium Celebration focusing on the <br /> construction of eleven(11)affordable homes in its Rogers Road Millennium Subdivision; and <br /> WHEREAS,Habitat for Humanity intends to create eleven(11)homeownership opportunities <br /> for low-income households;and <br /> WHEREAS,Habitat intends to spearhead a celebration that includes the participation of the <br /> broadest possible cross-section of the Orange County community;and <br /> WHEREAS,the construction of new or substantially rehabilitated housing units that are <br /> affordable to families earning below 60%of the area median income is a stated priority in the <br /> 1995-2000 Orange County Consolidated Plan for Housing and Community Development <br /> Programs; <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Orange County Board of Commissioners <br /> that Board endorses Habitat for Humanity's construction of eleven(11)affordable homes <br /> through a community-wide Millennium Celebration. <br /> This,the 7t'day of April, 1998 <br />
