Do you have any other comments on public transportation in your community that may be of <br />help in developing this plan? <br />not at the present time <br />Need to coordinate better between service providers and expand rural services beyond only medical <br />related, i.e. cover food deserts. <br />Chatham County lost most all industrial jobs but Lee and Durham Counties are showing growth. <br />Unfortunately, residents lads transportation to get to the other counties early morning and bads home <br />evenings so they can work thisjobs. <br />Chatham County is in dire need of "real" public transporation that is available to everyone and that goes <br />places that people need to go. Public transportation needs to be reliable, affordable, and accessible by <br />everyone regardless of age/ insurance status/ language, etc. I know of some familieswho are paying <br />people $20 for a trip within 91er City to shop at Walmart. The need is real. <br />We do have some numbers of food deserts and transportation deserts (where houses have no car) from <br />the American Communities 9arvey. Transportation has health consequences! I'll be coming from Orange <br />County Health Department to add that voice to the table. Thanks for hosting us. <br />SBe above. But there should be early transportation from, and later, early evening transportation back, <br />to Chatham County. People would use transit that was realistically scheduled. I never understood the <br />scheduling of the Pboro to CH bus. Also, why isthere no transit from Pboro to 91er City? <br />I grew up in a.
