Do you have any other comments on public transportation in your community that may be of <br />help in developing this plan? <br />If local service provi ders were provided with away of tracking their dients' transportation needs over <br />the course of a period of time then they might be better equipped to answer these sorts of questions. <br />For most of them this meeting will come as a surprise. <br />Summary of Reoommendations <br />The information in the previous section provides detailed list of needs, strategies, and prioritieswithin <br />Moore County. The following strategies standout as being both appropriate and a high priority for <br />implementation based on the results of the workshop. This summary is not all - inclusive, and should not <br />be interpreted as a limit on potential future actions, but rather as away to identify some of the highest <br />prioritiesfor implementation. <br />• New /improved fixed routesand deviated fixed routes —Moore County does not currently have <br />any fixed route service, and this was noted as a primary need by the workshop participants. The <br />mapping exercise identified a potential route connecting Fbbbins and Carthage with the <br />Rnehurst /Sbuthern Rnes/Aberdeen area, aswell as a circulator route within the urban area of <br />the county. <br />• New/ improved weekend service <br />• New /improved in -town circulators, shuttles, and localized services— in particular, a need for a <br />circulator serving parts of SDuthern Pines and Aberdeen was identified in the mapping exercise. <br />• Linkages/ transfers with other providers —this was a major topicof discussion at the workshop. <br />For Moore County, coordination with Lee, Hoke, and Montgomery countieswas identified as a <br />priority. <br />• Online access (payment, scheduling, information) <br />The workshop results are consistent with the survey results, which found the highest- priority issues to <br />be coordination of service (both with other counties, and with other service providers within Moore <br />County) and the provision of more public transportation service in general. <br />Triangle Area FFO Locally Coordinated Human Service Transportation Ran 42 <br />
