P <br />The information in the previous section provides detailed list of needs, strategies, and priorities within <br />Chatham County. The following strategies stand out as being both appropriate and a high priority for <br />implementation based on the results of the workshop. This summary is not all - inclusive, and should not <br />be interpreted as a limit on potential future actions, but rather as away to identify some of the highest <br />prioritiesfor implementation. <br />• New /improved fixed routesand deviated fixed routes —the mapping exercise identified a need <br />for new routes connecting Sler City to Sanford and connecting Rttsboro to Sanford. The <br />strategy identification exercise also identified a need for a route connecting to Asheboro. <br />• New /improved early morning/ eveningservice — theabilitytoaccommodatetripsearlierand <br />later in the day was an item of concern for workshop participants <br />• Mobility manager — thiswould improve customer service and provide better information to <br />riders <br />• Increased visibility/ marketing /education — thiswashighlighted as an important need <br />This isvery similar to the list of items identified as priorities in the survey, which found the three highest <br />priorities in Chatham County to be expanding the amount of transit service provided, extending daily <br />hours of operation, and serving areas of the county that are currently underserved. A major topic of <br />discussion during the workshop was the need for more coordination with neighboring counties, <br />particularly Lee County. <br />Inventory of Current Service <br />County of Lee Transit Qjstem (ODLTS) is administered by the Lee County Department of Senior Services, <br />and provides a mixture of fixed -route and demand - response service within Lee County. Its fixed route, <br />the " Dash," operates in a loop around the City of Sanford, with some fixed stops and some deviations. <br />The following list provides an inventory of the OOLTSvehide fleet as reported in the 2011 National <br />Transit Database: <br />• Four 12 -seat 2009 vans (not ADA equipped) <br />• One 8 -seat 2009 van <br />• Two 9 -seat 2008 vans <br />• Four 13 -seat 2008 vans (not ADA equipped) <br />• One 9 -seat 2003 van <br />• Two 9 -seat 2006 vans <br />• Two 12 -seat 2007 vans (not ADA equi pped) <br />• One 9 -seat 2007 van <br />• One 8 -seat 2010 van <br />This provides a total of 18 vans, of which 8 are equipped with wheelchair lifts. <br />Triangle Area FFO Locally Coordinated Human Service Transportation Ran 20 <br />
