16 <br />PART I - GENERAL ORDINANCES <br />Chapter 48 - VOLUNTARY FARMLAND PRESERVATION PROGRAM <br />Sec. 48 -19. - Purchase of agricultural conservation easements. <br />As provided in the N.C. Gen. Stat., § 106 -744, and included in the County's Lands Legacy Program, <br />Orange County may, with the voluntary consent of landowners, acquire by purchase agricultural <br />conservation easements on qualifying farmland as defined in this ordinance and located within a <br />Voluntary Agricultural District or Enhanced Voluntary Agricultural District as defined in this ordinance. <br />(Ord. of 03 -24 -1992, Art.
