also found that there were no defendants in jail and that since this is a very <br />busy season for the rural people of the County it would be better under all of <br />the oircumstances to not hold said term. <br />Therefore, upon motion of Commissioner Laws and seconded by Commissioner <br />Wilson, the following resolution was adopted: <br />Resolved, That Honorable W. Kerr Scott, Governor of North Carolina, is <br />hereby requested to cancel that term of the Orange County Superior Court <br />scheduled to convene on August 22, 1949. <br />Several bids were presented offering to trade a 1949 automobile for the <br />1937 Chevrolet Coupe used by the Tax Collector. After comparing these bids <br />it was found that the offer of $1217.10, for a 1949 4 door Ford Sedan, made <br />by Richmond Motor Company, was the best trade. <br />Now therefore, upon motion of Commissioner Wilson, seconded by Commissione: <br />Laws, the above bid was unanimously accepted and Richmond Motor Company is <br />hereby authorized to make delivery of the car. <br />Upon motion, adjourned. <br />J.
