Department on Aging - continued <br />Department on Aging <br />Master Aging Plan (MAP) Initiatives - Year Two <br />Staff will make the following recommendations for allocation of the Carol Woods funding to the Advisory Board <br />on Aging at its July 2013 meeting: <br />10,000 Develop a health promotion campaign <br />Healthy Ideas education campaign to primary care practices to promote the <br />identification /treatment of depression <br />Exercise and disease prevention promotions <br />Outreach and training for leaders in faith communities, senior living facilities <br />Falls prevention educational campaign <br />(Objective 3.1) <br />5,000 Support Long Term Care Learning Collaborative effort to provide consultation and <br />improvement rewards to local providers <br />(Objective 4.2) <br />20,000 Develop a communication campaign for the Department on Aging <br />Website re- design; listsery re- design <br />Purchase information dissemination tools: newspaper ads, brochures, <br />Helpline promotion, radio time <br />Branding for the Department and logo design <br />Produce a mobile information display <br />In Praise of Age video program expansion <br />(Objective 1.1) <br />22,000 Outreach to diverse segments of Orange County older adult population <br />Provide bi- lingual staffing to reach Chinese - speaking participants <br />Design and implement programs to reach the LGBT community <br />Make direct contact with rural churches <br />Target in- income individuals, especially in the rural community <br />(Objective 1.3) <br />$ 50,000 Develop Mobility Management Program to help link older adults with transportation <br />systems <br />(Objective 2.4 and 2.5) <br />$ 31,000 Conduct an older adult housing options inventory and study using an independent <br />consulting firm <br />(Objective 2.1) <br />$ 5,000 Co- housing development utilizing a student intern <br />(Objective 2.2) <br />$ 10,000 Implement Project Engaged, a national model for a senior leadership program utilizing <br />volunteer community resource teams <br />Utilize UNC Capstone graduate student team to develop the program in <br />Orange County <br />(Objective 1.1) <br />$ 22,000 Employ time - limited volunteer coordinator for Project Engaged, Mobility Management, <br />Telephone Reassurance, Friend -To- Friend etc. <br />(Objective 1.1, 2.4, 2.5, 2.7, 3.1) <br />$ 175,000 TOTAL <br />!67% <br />
