Employee Health Care- Continued <br />from premium -based (fully- insured) to self- insured may reduce the increase to under <br />5.0% for FY 2013 -14. This is largely due to fees that would be imposed on a fully - <br />insured plan. <br />While the anticipated increase enables the County to assume the full cost of any <br />increase in premiums for individual coverage, the actual increase may exceed the <br />budgeted amount. <br />Employee Health Care Recommendation <br />The Manager's Recommended Budget includes funds for up to an 8.0% premium <br />increase effective January 1, 2014. <br />Board of Commissioners' Action as to the Employee Health Care <br />The Board approved funding for an increase in employee health insurance premiums of <br />up to 8.0% ($226,444), effective with the January 1, 2014 renewal. <br />01111 <br />
