Revenue Comments - continued <br />Recreation and Parks - These revenues consist of charges for participation in various <br />recreational and leisure programs. Athletic program revenues are estimated at $108,000 for FY <br />2013 -14. Total Recreation and Parks revenues from fees are estimated at $263,000. <br />Register of Deeds - These are fees charged for items such as marriage licenses, birth and <br />death certificates, excise stamps on land transfers, and various certified copies. Most of these <br />fees are regulated by the State. Collections for register of deeds fees and excise stamps are <br />estimated at $657,000 and $759,000, respectively. Revenue stamps by State Statute are $2 <br />per $1,000 on all real estate transfers. A marriage license is $50, and revenues from these <br />licenses are estimated at $15,300 for FY 2013 -14. <br />Sheriff - Revenues in this category include charges assessed by the Sheriff for serving <br />warrants, court subpoenas, and other court documents, all of which are regulated by the State. <br />The Sheriff also collects fees from the state and federal government for housing certain <br />prisoners. Reimbursements from the ABC Board for the provision of law enforcement are in this <br />category as well as fees collected from the jail canteen and pay telephone system. The total <br />revenue anticipated from jail fees is $1,800,000. <br />Tax Collection Charges — Orange County collects taxes for all of the municipalities within the <br />County. In turn, the towns reimburse the County for this service. <br />Miscellaneous - Revenues in this category include candidate filing fees and other Board of <br />Election related charges along with charges for services within Animal Services and <br />Cooperative Extension, as well as indirect costs received from the Solid Waste Enterprise Fund, <br />Visitor Bureau Fund, and Emergency Telephone Fund. <br />Investment <br />Income <br />All Other <br />99.9% <br />Investments <br />0.1% <br />Interest Income - The General Fund share of all interest earned on the County's investments is <br />recorded in this category.
