Human Services - continued <br />Planned Parenthood of Central North Carolina $20,000 <br />Planned Parenthood of Orange and Durham Counties provides comprehensive reproductive <br />health care services along with educational programs that enhance understanding of human <br />sexuality. <br />Pre -Trial Services $0 <br />Pre -Trial Services provides critical information to the judiciary and probations officers, <br />magistrates, jailers, and other judicial officials so that they may make more informed decisions <br />pertaining to the rehabilitation or release of Pretrial inmates in the 15 -B County Jails. Formerly <br />known as Orange- Chatham Alternative Sentencing (OCAS).These funds ($95,000) will be <br />budgeted and provided via contract with the Department of Social Services in FY 2013 -14. <br />Previously Unfunded Organizations $0 <br />Outside Agencies applicants that did not receive FY 2012 -13 funding awards nor approval for <br />FY 2013 -14 funding. Unfunded agency descriptions are in the FY 2013 -14 Manager <br />Recommended Budget, located at http: / /orangecountync.gov /finance <br />Project TurnAround $0 <br />Project TurnAround is a court diversionary program for first -time non - violent drug offenders. <br />Program participants receive twelve months intensive supervision, during which time they are <br />required to pay program fees and to be employed or in school, support themselves and any <br />dependents, participate in drug counseling, have no further criminal charges and be drug free. <br />At successful completion of the program, the court charges are dismissed. <br />Rogers Road Eubanks Neighborhood Association $1,000 <br />Founded in 2007, this socially cohesive and culturally rich community of approximately 85 <br />households addresses the environmental and public health issues that affect the residents of <br />this community. Activities include environmental education and advocacy for the neighborhood, <br />offering guidance to similarly impacted communities, and working on wider community uplift. <br />School Health Nurses Contract $683,706 <br />In 2001, the Board of County Commissioners approved a School Nurse Funding Plan to <br />promote the optimal health and well being of all students in Orange County schools. The goal of <br />this plan was to provide one nurse to each of the existing schools at that time in both the Chapel <br />Hill Carrboro City and Orange County School systems. <br />Senior Care of Orange County $25,000 <br />Senior Care of Orange County was created to provide a safe and enriching environment while <br />offering social and health services to frail, disabled, and isolated older adults. The program <br />provides respite and education for family members and caregivers with the primary goal of <br />preventing or delaying the institutionalization of participants. <br />Social Justice Reserve Fund $250,000 <br />The allocation of these funds sets up a reserve fund that could be used to offset potential State <br />cuts to critical human service and other related programs. By holding the funds in reserve, the <br />County will have funds to assure that the most critical services can be continued. <br />4W <br />
