Sheriff - continued <br />Major Services <br />Provide continuous 24 -hour routine patrol services to the entire county. <br />Respond to crimes in progress, citizen complaints and incident investigations. <br />• Seek out wanted persons and serve criminal process. Serve civil process as mandated by the <br />court. <br />Provide school /community resource deputies for Orange County's high and middle schools, to <br />prevent violence and work with at risk students in the community. <br />• Operate the County Jail Facility. Transport inmates to court and maintain custody of same during <br />court trials, transport inmates to and from other jail facilities and state prisons. Provide courtroom <br />security for courts and courthouse property. <br />• Continue Community watch and crime stoppers programs conduct the D.A.R.E. /GREAT programs <br />in the county schools. Provide assistance to domestic violence victims, child abuse, elderly and <br />handicapped and aid crisis victims. <br />FY 2012 -13 Outcomes <br />Reduce the number of property and larcenies crimes. <br />To continue our school resource deputy program to reduce crime and incidents of violence in our <br />schools, <br />Provide safe housing and security for housed state and federal inmates. <br />• Staff will continue screening all reports from the OCSO and initiate contact with victims of domestic <br />violence. <br />Respond to 100% of citizens concerns regarding neighborhood drug and crime problems. <br />Involve more citizens in our efforts to reduce and prevent crime.
