DEAPR - continued <br />FY 2012 -13 Outcomes <br />All County Parks, public open space and grounds /landscape areas are maintained to a high level <br />of excellence, per the standards developed and implemented by the Superintendent of Parks, <br />using various reference materials from the NPRA, Park management Standards, Sports Turf <br />Association. <br />Increased reservations and public use of County athletic fields in response to community needs. <br />Remained open two months longer. <br />• Conducted 46 Environmental Education classes and 2 Arbor Day programs, which increased <br />programing and public involvement. Maintain all Park Playgrounds to meet or <br />exceed NPSI and ASTM codes and standards. <br />• Open, on a part -time basis, the Blackwood Farm Park, based on an operations plan to be <br />presented in fall 2013. <br />Develop and Implement Meadow and Wildlife Enhancement programs, with pilot project at <br />Blackwood Farm Park. <br />Explore expanded usage of playing fields, and the potential for alternative playing field surfaces. <br />Design and install five (5) miles of new hiking trails at Seven Mile Creek and Hollow Rock. <br />• Conduct a minimum of four (4) Arbor Day celebrations, in collaboration with local schools, and <br />expand Environmental Education programs beyond Little River Park to include Blackwood Farm <br />Park. <br />11[111-1 <br />
