28 <br /> 1 Commissioner Rich said she meant to read the proclamation regarding Sexual Assault <br /> 2 Awareness Month and she wanted to bring this to everyone's attention. <br /> 3 She said that she visited Efland Cheeks Elementary for a discussion on what a County <br /> 4 Commissioner does. She said the kids were great and she learned about the school and its <br /> 5 history. Shesaidtherovvmuagnoddioouasionnfpo|idosand |ooa| govemnmmnt. andtha <br /> 6 students were interested in visiting the Board. She suggested finding a way to make this <br /> 7 happen. <br /> 8 Chair Jacobs said that he, Commissioner McKee and the Manager are-meeting with <br /> 9 Congressman Price on April 15th and will-solicit from Board members, any issues to be <br /> 10 discussed. <br /> 11 He said there are also efforts to set up a meeting with the Chatham County <br /> 12 Commissioners in May and the next group will be the Alamance County Commissioners. He <br /> 13 noted to Commissioner Pelissier that this will allow discussion of the County line. <br /> 14 He said there was a school collaboration meeting last week and discussed pre-k classes <br /> 15 and the counting of those classes toward school capacity. He said there will need to be more <br /> 16 discussion of this. He said there was also good discussion of school funding trends. <br /> 17 He noted that the Junior Livestock Sale is next Thursday. <br /> 18 He noted that the Board is awaiting a response from the head of Triangle Transit to set <br /> 19 up a meeting with Commissioner Pelissier. <br /> 20 Commissioner Pelissier said that Triangle Transit will be writing back in response to the <br /> 21 letter. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 13.
