2 <br /> Attachment <br /> Draft Orange County Personnel Ordinance <br /> Addition to Article IV, "Employee Benefits" <br /> 23.0 Personal Leave Days <br /> 23.1 General <br /> 23.1.1 The County provides two Personal Leave Days with pay for Permanent <br /> employees,both Full Time and Part Time(regularly, scheduled at least <br /> 20 hours each workweek). This includes an employee appointed to a <br /> permanent position serving a probationary period. Temporary employees <br /> do not earn or receive Personal Leave Days. <br /> 23.1.2 A Personal Leave Day is the equivalent of the regular daily work <br /> schedule for which the employee is appointed. For example, if the <br /> employee is regularly scheduled to work eight hours each workday, each <br /> Personal Leave Day is eight hours. Personal Leave Days are prorated for <br /> a Permanent employee appointed to a regular work schedule other than <br /> 40 hours. <br /> 23.2 Using Personal Leave DM <br /> 23.2.1 Personal Leave Days may be used for any reason with the supervisor's <br /> advance approval. <br /> 23.2.2 Personal Leave Days may be used in increments of two hours. <br /> 23.3 Earning Personal Leave Days <br /> 23.3.1 Each eligible employee earns two Personal Leave Days as of January I of <br /> each calendar year. A new employee appointed to a permanent position: <br /> ❑ Prior to July I of the calendar year,receives two Personal Leave Days <br /> to use for the calendar year. <br /> ❑ After July 1 of the year,receives one Personal Leave Day to use for the <br /> remainder of the calendar year. <br /> 23.3.2 July 1999 Implementation Note <br /> Each employee appointed to a permanent position as of July 1, 1999 <br /> receives one Personal Leave Day to use for the remainder of calendar year <br /> 1999. <br /> .23.4 Approving Personal Leave Dgys <br /> 23.4.1 Use of a Personal Leave Day requires the supervisor's advance <br />
