Failure to obtain advance approval to use Personal Leave may <br /> result in loss of pay. <br /> 23-4.2 The scheduling of Personal Leave must take account of the department's <br /> operating requirements. <br /> 23.5 Responsibility <br /> The department head is responsible for maintaining accurate Personal Leave <br /> records and for the application of the Personal Leave provisions of the Personnel <br /> Ordinance. <br /> 23.6 Recording Personal Leave Days <br /> Personal Leave Days are shown on the employee leave and time record as"PLD" <br /> (Personal Leave Day). Each department maintains Personal Leave records. <br /> Personal Leave Days off are not counted as "hours worked" in calculating <br /> overtime pay. <br /> 23.7 Accumulating Personal Leave Days <br /> Personal Leave Days do not accumulate from calendar year to calendar year. Any <br /> Personal Leave not used by December 31 of each calendar year is cancelled. It is <br /> not paid or converted to any other type of leave. <br /> 23.8 Advancing Personal Leave Days <br /> Personal Leave Days are not advanced before they are earned. <br /> 23.9 Sharing Personal Leave Days <br /> An employee who wishes to donate Personal Leave Days to an employee <br /> requesting Shared Leave may do so under Section 22.0,"Shared Leave." <br /> 23.10 Reinstating Personal Leave Da s <br /> If an employee terminates employment and is later reinstated during the same <br /> calendar year,the employee receives credit for any unused Personal Leave Days <br /> upon reinstatement.
