A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING HOUSE BILL 1098 <br /> REGARDING AN AMENDMENT TO THE <br /> SEDIMENTATION POLLUTION CONTROL ACT OF 1973. <br /> WHEREAS, Representative Joe Hackney introduced House Bill 1098 into the General <br /> Assembly of North Carolina, Session 1999 to amend the Sedimentation Act of <br /> 1973, and <br /> WHEREAS, House Bill 1098 sets forth a process whereby draft erosion control plans <br /> must be approved, denied or approved with conditions,by local government <br /> consistent with state and federal laws, and <br /> WHEREAS, House Bill 1098 adds two new subdivisions to the Sedimentation Act of <br /> 1973 to further refine the level of land disturbing activity requiring an erosion <br /> control plan, and <br /> WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the citizens of Orange County for the Board of <br /> County Commissioners to support said bill. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of <br /> Orange County to approve: <br /> Section 1 -That the Board of County Commissioners of Orange County North <br /> Carolina firmly supports House Bill 1098 to amend the Sedimentation Act of <br /> 1973. <br /> Section 2 - That this Resolution will become effective upon passage. <br /> This,the__&L day of ,"r„Ne. , 1999. <br /> Approved by the Orange County Board of Commissioners: <br /> Alice M.
