The meetings <br />were advertised in the local newspapers and on the Town's website: <br />Wednesday, February 27, 2013 <br />Wednesday, April 10, 2013 <br />Town Council Public Forum <br />Town Hall Council Chambers <br />405 Martin Luther King Blvd. <br />Chapel Hill, NC 27514 <br />7:00 P.M <br />A draft of the Annual Action Plan was made available on the Orange County, Town of <br />Hillsborough, Town of Chapel Hill and Town of Carrboro websites for review and in <br />the office of the Orange County Housing, Human Rights and Community <br />Development Department. <br />2. Provide a summary of citizen comments or views on the plan. <br />Comments from the Orange County Board of County Commissioners <br />February S, 2013 board meeting: <br />1. Robert Dowling, Executive Director of the Community Home Trust indicated that <br />they would request $60,000 in HOME funds to subsidize town homes in the <br />Ballantine and 140 West Franklin developments. The Community Home Trust will <br />request $20,000 for operational expenses. <br />Susan Levy, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity, Inc., stated that Habitat <br />would request $300,000 for second mortgage assistance in the Phoenix Place <br />subdivision, Chapel Hill, Fairview in Hillsborough and Tinnin Woods subdivision in <br />Efland Cheeks Township, Efland, NC. <br />Summary of Comments from February 27, 2013 <br />Community Development and HOME Program Pubic Forum <br />13. Terry Allebaugh, the Executive Director of Housing for New Hope, stated that <br />Housing for New Hope is requesting support for their housing programs to <br />end homelessness, specifically $12,000 in CDBG funds to continue support for <br />their housing specialist and $50,000 in HOME funds for rental support. <br />14. Aubrey Vinson, the Youth Director at the Chapel Hill - Carrboro YMCA stated <br />that the YMCA's Afterschool Outreach Program, which provides a safe, <br />positive afterschool experience for children from low- income housing, is <br />requesting continued funding to support the program.
