i <br /> 1 <br /> 2 f. A plan for sidewalks and footpaths shall be designed to connect all houses <br /> 3 with any of the village's greens and parks. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 (7) Parking. <br /> 6 <br /> 7 a. Off-street parking lots and areas shall generally be located at the rear of <br /> 8 buildings. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 b. No off-street parking shall be permitted in the front yards of buildings located <br /> 11 in the storefront or townhouse use areas, nor shall off street parking be the <br /> 12 principal use of comer lots in these areas. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 C. Any off street parking space or parking lot in a storefront,townhouse, or civic <br /> 15 area which abuts a street right-of-way shall be buffered from the right-of-way <br /> 16 by a landscaped area no less than 4 feet wide in which is located a continuous <br /> 17 row of shrubs no less than 3 1/2 feethigh, or by a wall no less than 4 feet and <br /> 18 no more than 6 feet high. <br /> 19 <br /> 20 d. Off street parking in the storefront and narrow frontage townhouse areas shall <br /> 21 generally be accessible from an alley only. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 (8) Landscaping <br /> 24 <br /> 25 a. The applicant shall submit a comprehensive landscape master plan for all <br /> 26 areas of the village, and village conservancy areas, identifying the location <br /> 27 and size of both existing vegetation to be retained and proposed new <br /> 28 vegetation, typical planting materials, the phasing of landscape installation <br /> 29 and planting methods. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 b. Shade trees shall be provided along each side of all streets, public or private, <br /> 32 existing or proposed. Shade trees shall also be massed at critical points, such <br /> 33 as at focal points along a curve in the roadway. In locations where healthy <br /> 34 and mature shade trees currently exist, the requirements or new trees may be <br /> 35 waived or modified <br /> 36 <br /> 37 C. Parking lots larger than 19 spaces and/or 6,000 square feet in size shall have <br /> 38 internal landscaping as well as buffering landscaping on the edge of the lot <br /> 39 <br /> 40 d Trees and other plants should be chosen with reference to the list set forth in <br /> 41 Appendix E. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 e. Trees and other public landscaping shall be protected by means of suitable <br /> 44 barriers. <br /> 45 <br /> 46 f.
