The proposed <br /> amendment addresses land use in the a rea north of the <br /> Joint Planning Area. <br /> BACKGROUND: When the Orange County Land Use Plan was adopted in <br /> 1981, a five-year update schedule was specified. In <br /> with the schedule, the Little River an <br /> accordance d- <br /> Cedar Grove components were revised in 1986 and 1987, <br /> respectively. The Bingham Township component has been <br /> prepared and will be presented at the next Joint <br /> Planning public hearing. The Cheeks, Hillsborough, and <br /> Eno components have also been prepared and will be <br /> presented along with this Land Use Plan at the May 23, <br /> 1988, regularly scheduled Orange county public hearing. <br /> The Plan update process for the area officially began <br /> with a public information meeting on January 6, 1988, <br /> at which time the plan strategy was presented. A public <br /> meeting involving the TACs from Hillsborough, Eno, and <br /> Chapel Hill Townships was held on February 2, 1988 for <br /> the purpose of presenting background data <br /> and <br /> distributing questionnaires on community preferences.
