ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> A PROCLAMATION ON THE OBSERVANCE OF AMERICAN RED CROSS MONTH <br /> March, 1999 <br /> WHEREAS,the Orange County American Red Cross has provided humanitarian relief for all those in <br /> need in an impartial and neutral manner; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Orange County American Red Cross has deserved recognition for increasing the <br /> participation of volunteers throughout the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Orange County American Red Cross is commended for: <br /> • Establishing the first and only nationwide Teen AIDS Hotline service staffed by teens for teens and, <br /> • Providing health and safety services throughout the community regardless of individual status; and <br /> • Implementing vital disaster services and emergency communication at a moment's notice. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED THAT the Orange County Board of Commissioners does <br /> hereby acknowledge the Orange County American Red Cross for their commitment and dedicated efforts <br /> toward serving the citizens of Orange County, and does hereby commend to the citizens the observance of <br /> March 1999 as"American Red Cross Month". <br /> This the 16th day of March, 1999. <br /> Alice Gordon, Chair <br /> Orange County Board of Commissioners <br />
