Threats <br />I. TelephoneBomb Threats <br />A. Remain calm - In the event of a telephonic threat, the employee receiving the call <br />must remain as calm as possible. <br />B. Attempt to keep the caller on the telephone as long as possible. <br />C. Use the "i ellepl�m rie Bownnb "i °]1��ire t (']lwcklist following this section and record the <br />caller's exact words - A special effort should be made to obtain the information on <br />the attached form. <br />D. Immediately Make Notifications — The member who receives a bomb threat call <br />shall contact 9 -1 -1 (or 9 -911 if in a County facility). (Radios WILL NOT be <br />utilized; they could set the bomb off). <br />E. Notify — Supervisors. <br />11. Evacuation Instructions: <br />A. The decision to evacuate Hillsborough Commons shall be the responsibility of the <br />Department Director or as directed by 9 -1 -1 or Emergency Responders and /or by <br />the Incident Commander on scene. Follow instructions as they are given by the 9 -1 -1 <br />center, law enforcement, or fire personnel. In the event that decision is made: <br />➢ An announcement that the building is being evacuated shall be made over the <br />paging system (or however department would do this) <br />➢ Employees shall close all doors, leaving them unlocked. <br />➢ Elevators shall not be used. <br />B. When the evacuation order is given: <br />➢ Desks and work areas shall be cleared of any confidential and important <br />papers; <br />➢ Computers logged off, <br />➢ Drawers to desks and file cabinets will be closed; <br />➢ Cash and money instruments shall be secured; and <br />➢ Exit doors shall be closed, but not locked. <br />25 <br />e <br />
