Suspicious Activity <br />Suspicious activity is anything that is out of the ordinary. Factors such as race, ethnicity, national <br />origin, etc. are not suspicious. For that reason, the public should report only suspicious behavior <br />and situations (e.g., an unattended backpack in a public place or someone trying to break into a <br />restricted area) rather than beliefs, thoughts, ideas, expressions, associations, or speech unrelated <br />to terrorism or other criminal activity. <br />If you observe a crime in progress or behavior that is suspicious: <br />DO NOT approach or attempt to apprehend person(s) involved. <br />• Call 911. Provide the following information: <br />• What the person(s) are doing. <br />• Location. <br />• Physical and clothing description. <br />• Weapons or tools. <br />• Vehicle description, license number. <br />• Direction of travel when last seen. <br />• Stay on the phone until instructed otherwise. <br />If directly involved in the situation: <br />• Remain calm. <br />• Cooperate with the person(s). <br />• Make no sudden movements. <br />• <br />Call 911 as soon as possible. <br />24 <br />R <br />
