9 <br /> NAME OF BOARD/COMMISSION: Advisory Board on Aging <br /> Report Period: Jan. 2012 — December 2012 <br /> as they relate to established BOCC goals and priorities. <br /> If applicable, is there a fiscal impact (i.e., funding, staff time, other <br /> resources) associated with these proposed activities (please list). <br /> • Continue with Year One Implementation Plan thru June 2013 and prioritize <br /> strategies for Year Two including securing funding for new initiatives. <br /> What are the concerns or emerging issues your board has identified for the <br /> upcoming year that it plans to address, or wishes to bring to the <br /> Commissioners' attention? <br /> • The Advisory Board on Aging continues to study ways and means to <br /> maximize or reallocate available resources to meet the emerging <br /> magnitude of the needs of an increasing percentage of county residents <br /> that are seniors. <br /> • The Advisory Board sees it role as volunteers who are here to help and be <br /> utilized as much as possible to build a better community. <br /> • Concern for the growing transportation needs of older adults and the <br /> emerging issue of volunteers providing transportation and the liabilities <br /> that this involves. <br />
