ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS RESOLUTION LEVYING A SEVEN <br /> DOLLAR ($7.00) VEHICLE REGISTRATION TAX ON MOTOR VEHICLES REGISTERED IN <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of Commissioners has adopted the Orange County Bus <br /> and Rail Investment Plan; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Orange County Bus and Rail Investment Plan provides for the levy and <br /> disbursement of the seven dollar ($7.00) motor vehicle registration tax authorized by North <br /> Carolina General Statute §105-570; and <br /> WHEREAS, Orange County and one or more municipal corporations in Orange County <br /> operate public transportation systems. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Orange County Board of Commissioners <br /> hereby levies the seven dollar ($7.00) motor vehicle registration tax as authorized by North <br /> Carolina General Statute §105-570 with said motor vehicle registration tax being effective July <br /> 1, 2013. <br /> This the 11 th day of December 2012. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Dorosin seconded by Commissioner Rich to approve the <br /> resolution "ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS RESOLUTION LEVYING A <br /> SEVEN DOLLAR ($7.00) VEHICLE REGISTRATION TAX ON MOTOR VEHICLES <br /> REGISTERED IN ORANGE COUNTY" <br /> VOTE: Ayes, 4; Nays, 2 (Commissioner McKee and Commissioner Price) <br /> Commissioner Gordon restated her previous motion about Option B: <br /> Orange County creates an agreement with the NCDMV for direct disbursement of <br /> revenues to TTA with similar reporting as noted above each November, and that this <br /> agreement be for a period not longer than four years. The period of time would be coordinated <br /> with the four-year review specified in the Implementation Agreement. <br /> Commissioner McKee said that it makes better sense to have a method of <br /> disbursement. <br /> VOTE: Ayes, 5; No, 1 (Commissioner Price) <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Rich, seconded by Commissioner Dorosin to <br /> approve the resolution authorizing the $3 additional TTA vehicle registration tax. <br /> "ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE <br /> RESEARCH TRIANGLE REGIONAL PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY TO LEVY <br /> THE FULL EIGHT DOLLAR ($8.00) VEHICLE REGISTRATION TAX ON MOTOR VEHICLES <br /> REGISTERED IN ORANGE COUNTY" <br /> VOTE: Ayes, 4; Nays, 2 (Commissioner McKee and Commissioner Price) <br />
