Human Rights & Relations <br /> The Human Rights and Relations Department has received $25,000 in <br /> unanticipated Federal revenues for the current fiscal year. The department plans to <br /> use some of the money to purchase computer equipment (scanners and laptop <br /> computers) and furniture. Other funds will offset departmental expenses for the <br /> year. (See column 1, page 5 of this abstract) <br /> 2. Sheriff <br /> During the year, members of this department provide security at various special <br /> events at the University of North Carolina. In addition, this past fall they provided <br /> law enforcement assistance to flood stricken counties last fall. The County has paid <br /> these officers through its payroll system, and in turn, has been reimbursed by all of <br /> the agencies. The total amount received by Orange County is estimated to be <br />
