County Manager's Report <br /> Frank Clifton commended Commissioner Foushee, Commissioner Hemminger, and <br /> Commissioner Yuhasz for their service to Orange County on the Board of County <br /> Commissioners. <br /> 10. County Attorney's Report <br /> John Roberts agreed with Frank Clifton and commended Commissioner Foushee, <br /> Commissioner Hemminger, and Commissioner Yuhasz. <br /> 11. Appointments <br /> a. Human Relations Commission —Appointment <br /> The Board considered making an appointment to the Human Relations Commission. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Hemminger, seconded by Commissioner <br /> Foushee to appoint Matthew Prentice to the Carrboro position with a first partial term expiring <br /> June 30, 2014. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 12. Board Comments (Three Minute Limit Per Commissioner) <br /> Commissioner Gordon said that the DCHC MPO TAC approved the MPO boundaries <br /> between the Burlington-Graham MPO. There was also a public hearing on the 2040 <br /> Metropolitan Transportation Plan and the preferred option, and that will be coming to the Board <br /> for comment. There was also a public hearing on the 2014-2020 Draft Transportation <br /> Improvement Program, which will also be coming back for comment. <br /> Commissioner McKee said that he appreciated having served with Commissioner <br /> Foushee, Commissioner Hemminger, and Commissioner Yuhasz. <br /> Commissioner Hemminger said that she is sad to be leaving and she has loved this <br /> experience. <br /> Commissioner Foushee thanked the residents of Orange County for this opportunity. <br /> She said that Orange County's staff is second to none. She said that she takes no credit for <br /> anything they have done because this is a team. <br /> Commissioner Yuhasz said that he appreciated the opportunity to serve in this <br /> government. <br /> Commissioner Jacobs said that he and the Chair met with elected officials in Chapel <br /> Hill about the library progress on interoperability. There will be a meeting with Chapel Hill in <br /> March on some of the progress made. Hopefully, they will come back in the fall with more <br /> detail on how to work together on library services. <br /> Commissioner Jacobs said that the County Commissioners got a letter from an elected <br /> official who wants to serve on one of the County's boards not as an elected official. He thinks <br /> that there is a policy related to this and it should be shared with this elected official because it <br /> has come up before. He said that the County does not do this. <br /> Commissioner Jacobs expressed appreciation to Commissioner Foushee, <br /> Commissioner Hemminger, and Commissioner Yuhasz. He said that he considered them his <br /> friends. <br />
