RES – 2013 – 014 Attachment 2 DRAFT <br />NORTH CAROLINA <br />RESOLUTION REGARDING <br />ORANGE COUNTY LEGISLATIVE MATTERS <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of <br />Orange County that the Board hereby requests the Senator and <br />Representatives representing Orange Countytake the following <br />positionson legislation regarding the following Statewide <br />matters: <br />* Revenue Options for Local Government <br />1) – <br />(Version “a”) Support legislation that authorizes any <br />local government to enact anyrevenue sourcethat is <br />presently available to one or more local governments in <br />the state. Local governments have experienced <br />significant budget cuts in recent years. Providing <br />flexibility regarding revenue options to fund local <br />government services will allowlocal governments to <br />tailor their respective funding plans based on <br />individual needs and goals; <br />OR <br />(Version “b”)Supportthe expansion of revenue options <br />and protection of revenue sources available to county <br />governments; <br />An itemdenoted with a “*” generally coincides with a similar North Carolina <br />Association of County Commissioners (NCACC) 2013-14 Legislative Goal. <br /> <br />
