He wants the neighborhood <br /> 2 to be in control of its destiny instead of the development community being in control. <br /> 3 Commissioner Foushee agreed and said that this should be a discussion point in the <br /> 4 AOG meeting. <br /> 5 Commissioner Gordon said that it seems to her that they needed clarification on some <br /> 6 issues. For the community center, she wants to make it clear that they need to finish the task <br /> 7 and then keep moving forward with the center. <br /> 8 Michael Talbert said that the intent of the task force is to continue to meet for 6 months. <br /> 9 He said that the report at the AOG is just an interim report. <br /> 10 Commissioner Hemminger said that the task force wanted the AOG to bless their <br /> 11 community center on December 6th. <br /> 12 Frank Clifton said that Orange County will continue to be the lead agency. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 8. Reports <br /> 15 NONE <br /> 16 <br /> 17 9. County Manager's Report <br /> 18 Frank Clifton commended Commissioner Foushee, Commissioner Hemminger, and <br /> 19 Commissioner Yuhasz for their service to Orange County on the Board of County <br /> 20 Commissioners. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 10. County Attorney's Report <br /> 23 John Roberts agreed with Frank Clifton and commended Commissioner Foushee, <br /> 24 Commissioner Hemminger, and Commissioner Yuhasz. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 11. Appointments <br /> 27 a. Human Relations Commission — Appointment <br /> 28 The Board considered making an appointment to the Human Relations Commission. <br /> 29 A motion was made by Commissioner Hemminger, seconded by Commissioner <br /> 30 Foushee to appoint Matthew Prentice to the Carrboro position with a first partial term expiring <br /> 31 June 30, 2014. <br /> 32 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 33 <br /> 34 12. Board Comments (Three Minute Limit Per Commissioner) <br /> 35 Commissioner Gordon said that the DCHC MPO TAC approved the MPO boundaries <br /> 36 between the Burlington-Graham MPO. There was also a public hearing on the 2040 <br /> 37 Metropolitan Transportation Plan and the preferred option, and that will be coming to the Board <br /> 38 for comment. There was also a public hearing on the 2014-2020 Draft Transportation <br /> 39 Improvement Program, which will also be coming back for comment. <br /> 40 Commissioner McKee said that he appreciated having served with Commissioner <br /> 41 Foushee, Commissioner Hemminger, and Commissioner Yuhasz. <br /> 42 Commissioner Hemminger said that she is sad to be leaving and she has loved this <br /> 43 experience. <br /> 44 Commissioner Foushee thanked the residents of Orange County for this opportunity. <br /> 45 She said that Orange County's staff is second to none. She said that she takes no credit for <br /> 46 anything they have done because this is a team. <br /> 47 Commissioner Yuhasz said that he appreciated the opportunity to serve in this <br /> 48 government. <br /> 49 Commissioner Jacobs said that he and the Chair met with elected officials in Chapel Hill <br /> 50 about the library progress on interoperability. There will be a meeting with Chapel Hill in March <br />
