PERSON COUNTY <br />Return to: Person County Manager's Office m nn T7 bMhAA <br />304 South Morgan Street, Roam 212 <br />Roxboro, North Carolina 27573 APR - 7 1999 <br />MANAGER'S OFFICE <br />Name of organization Piedmont Community College Board of Trustees <br />Brief summary of its function <br />The Trustees of Piedmont Community College are a body corporate with powers to enable it <br />to acquire, hold, and transfer real and personal property, to enter into contracts ' to <br />institute and defend legal actions and suits, and to exercise such other rights and <br />privileges as may be necessary for the management and administration of the institution <br />in accordance with Chapter 115-D of the North Carolina General Statutes. <br />The powers and duties of trustees shall include the following: <br />1) To elect a president or chief administrative officer, subject to <br />of the State Board of Community Colleges; <br />2) To purchase any land, easement, or right-of-way necessary for the <br />of the institution and to acquire land by condemnation; <br />3) To apply standards and requirements for admission and graduation; <br />4) To receive and accept donations, gifts, and bequests from private <br />5) To perform such other acts as may be necessary or proper for the <br />the foregoing specific powers. <br />Requirements for membership <br />the approval <br />operation <br />donors; <br />exercise of <br />Trustees must be residents of the administrative area served by the College or of <br />counties contiguams <br />Regular meeting date Normally the 3rd Tuesday or Wednesday of each January, April,- July, <br />and October. <br />Time —4 p.m. <br />Location- Piedmont Community College <br />The Person County Campus or the Caswell County Campus <br />
