Brief Description and Background/History of your Organization. <br /> Be sure to include the number of years in existence,number of employees,mission and goals of your organization. <br /> The Orange Soil&Water Conservation District was orginally formed in 1938 consisting of Orange,Durham and Wake counties and was called the <br /> Neuse River Soil Conservation District. The Orange Soil&Water Conservation District became an individual District in 1964. The District <br /> currently has five employees which work towards the District's mission of using available technical,financial,and educational resources,whatever <br /> their source and focus or coordinate them so that they meet the needs of the local land user for conservation of their natural resources. <br /> 2.
