70 <br />Parks & Recreation Council <br />NAME OF BOARD/COMMISSION: <br />2012 <br />Report Period: <br />Regional Park, Efland Cheeks Community Park (Phase 2), Twin Cree <br />(Moniese Nomp) Park, Blackwood Farm Park, Cedar Grove Park, Fair <br />Park and the Hollow Rock Access Area. <br /> The Council is taking an active role in the new Parks and Recre <br />· <br />Master Plan, which is underway, including advising on public inp <br />participating in public input sessions. <br /> Members have assisted in the operation of numerous special even <br />· <br /> The Chair serves on the Inter-governmental Parks Work Group, an <br />· <br />representatives also serve on the New Hope Creek Corridor Adviso <br />Council. <br /> The Council was an Element Lead Advisory Board involved in the <br />· <br />Comprehensive Plan. <br /> The Council makes recommendations for the triennial Lands Legac <br />· <br />Action Plan. <br /> The Council has worked toward the establishment and incorporati <br />· <br />Friends of Parks and Recreation Group. <br /> The Council hosts the biannual Joint Recreation and Parks Advis <br />· <br />Council meeting on a rotating basis, most recently in 2011. <br /> The Council took meetings ‘on the road’ in 2012, visiting park <br />· <br />discussing issues with different staff superintendents and park <br /> <br /> <br />List of Specific Tasks, Events, or Functions Performed or Sponso <br />Annually. <br /> <br />Biennial joint meetings of town/county parks and recreation coun <br /> <br /> <br />Describe this board/commission’s activities/accomplishments in c <br />out BOCC goal(s)/priorities, if applicable. <br /> <br />The PRC reviews site plans for major subdivision applications in <br />jurisdiction.
