60 <br />NAME OF BOARD/COMMISSION: Advisory Board on Aging <br />Report Period: Jan. 2012 December 2012 <br />Practicum interns to assist in creating the Yr 1 MAP Implementat <br /> Secured a second UNC School of Public Health Behavior Capstone <br />· <br />of five graduate students to assist with the implementation of a <br />marketing/communications for the Department as outlined in the 2 <br />MAP. <br /> Aging board members also serve on other county and community bo <br />· <br />to strengthen coordination of services to older adults. Those b <br />include the Orange County OUT, OCIM, Meals on Wheels, Carolina <br />Villages and Orange County Housing Boards. <br /> On-going development of community partnerships to accomplish MA <br />· <br />goals. <br /> <br />List of Specific Tasks, Events, or Functions Performed or Sponso <br />Annually. <br /> Co-sponsored 4th annual Community Resource Fair at University M <br />· <br />700 persons were in attendance at the March 2012 event. <br /> Provide Orange County representation to the Triangle J Area Age <br />· <br />Aging Advisory Council <br /> Support the Chatham-Orange Community Resource Connections and t <br />· <br />development of its 24 partnerships with local agencies, as well <br />pilot site for the Hospital Transitions model. <br /> Assist in promotion of the Senior Tar Heel Legislature initiati <br />· <br />representation by two Advisory Board on Aging affiliates. <br /> Board makes recommendations to BOCC of potential legislative co <br />· <br />to be included in the BOCC Legislative agenda. <br /> On-going input into other community planning processes, such as <br />· <br />Southern Human Services Campus Master plan project, the UNC GigU <br />Initiative and etc. <br /> <br />Describe this board/commissions activities/accomplishments in c <br />out BOCC goal(s)/priorities, if applicable. <br />If your board/commission played the role of an Element Lead Advi <br />Board involved in the 2030 Comprehensive Plan preparation proces <br />please indicate your boards activities/accomplishments as they <br />to the Comprehensive Plans goals or objectives. <br />(The Element Lead Advisory Boards include: Planning Board, EDC, <br />Commission for the Environment, Historic Preservation Commission <br />Preservation Board, Affordable Housing Board, Recreation and Par <br />Council) <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Identify any activities this board/commission expects to carry o <br /> <br />
