I have visited most of the parks in the <br />county and have volunteered on clean up days at some of them as well. I <br />have seen the facilities grow from minimal to phenomenal during my lifetime <br />and have seen how other parks throughout NC have become more Eco- <br />friendly and still have many features that the communities desire and need. <br />I am very involved in both my sons schools and talk with other people in the <br />community on what they enjoy about Orange County and what they would <br />like to see. <br />Community Activities /Organizational Memberships: <br />am currently involved in missions work through my church, including the backpack <br />program which provides food to children who would not normally have it over the <br />weekend, ASP helps families throughout the Appalachian mountains make their homes <br />warmer, safer and dryer and I attend public meetings on various issues through out the <br />county, most recently I attended the Parks & Recs meeting at Walnut Grove UMC on the <br />future of the county parks. <br />Past Service on Orange County Advisory Boards: <br />
