For these reasons, it is imperative that <br />bridges be constructed to the same design standards as the system of which they are a <br />part. <br />The NCDOT Structures Management Unit inspects all bridges in North Carolina at least <br />once every two years. Bridges having the highest priority are replaced as Federal and <br />State funds become available.
