Orange County CTP <br />2/15/2011 <br />• Alamance Community College <br />• Pittsboro <br />Any Other Transportation Issues <br />Comments... <br />• Improving Efland -Cedar Grove Rd, due to traffic using it from Virginia to 1 -40/85 <br />• Transportation service in rural areas for not only elderly but disabled as well <br />• Want bike routes and sidewalks to the schools <br />• Preserve rural peace and quiet <br />General observations... <br />• Lots of concern for bicycling - many wanting better facilities <br />o Also many drivers frustrated at the safety issues bicycles present, as well as bicyclists <br />not obeying traffic laws, and the fact that they must share the road but are not registered <br />or taxed <br />• Generally don't want more roads - instead want more public transit, as well as more mixed use <br />development and consolidated growth <br />• There is interest in rail service to connect the Triangle <br />• Got a few comments that they appreciated the survey and it had good questions <br />*Most summaries here only list answers from the RPO areas for purpose of the CTP study.
