Emergency Services <br />3. The Orange County Emergency Services Department has received notification of a <br />$2,000 Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) reimbursable grant award <br />from the N.C. Department of Public Safety. These U. S. Department of Homeland <br />Security grant funds, passed through by the State, are provided to conduct training <br />activities to improve preparedness, response and recovery to natural disasters, acts <br />of terrorism, and other man -made disasters, and to purchase helmet- mounted lights, <br />high frequency radios, and tabletop "set up" simulator and exercise props that will <br />enable the County to prepare for all hazard events. This budget amendment <br />provides for the receipt of these reimbursable grant funds. (See Attachment 1, <br />column 3) <br />Department on Aging <br />4. Based on current year collections, the Department on Aging anticipates a revenue <br />increase of $12,000, related to its Wellness Grant Program. The department projects <br />an additional $6,000 from the senior centers' Fit Feet service, which will procure <br />medical supplies and nursing support. DEAPR anticipates an additional $4,320 from concession sales revenue, at the <br />EuroSport Soccer Center. After the FY 2012 -13 budget process, the department <br />scheduled several fall tournaments, which led to increased concession sales. Staff <br />will use the funds to purchase additional concession supplies. This budget <br />amendment provides for the receipt of these additional funds for the above stated <br />purpose.
