Combining aesthetic engineering and community icons,this <br /> sculptural installation spotlights the important connection that exists between natural and cultural systems by manipulating the river stones of <br /> an existing drainage area and adding a curvilinear bamboo form to create a stone leaf pattern of leaf veins,spirals and circles to address storm <br /> water runoff surge conditions from the adjacent parking lots while creating seven integrated large-scale bright-colored fabric mushroom forms <br /> arranged into a fairy circle and installed at Spring Daze to spotlight the celebratory nature of the festival. <br /> WakeMed Cary Hospital Fitness Trail: Passport to Fitness <br /> There are always opportunities to live a healthy lifestyle!Let the 2012 Passport to Fitness be your guide at this year's Spring Daze Festival. <br /> The passport,available at any Fitness Stop throughout the festival,highlights the activities located at each stop.Each Fitness Stop includes <br /> activities that are suitable for all ages and are designed to help you balance your health,environmental,physical and cultural well-being.After <br /> successfully visiting each stop,you will receive an ink stamp indicating its completion.Finish your passport,return it to any Fitness Stop for a <br /> cool prize.Those who have visited all the Fitness stops,as indicated by their passport,will be entered into our grand prize drawings.The Town <br /> of Cary has been designated as a Fit Community in North Carolina through 2013 and encourages residents to live a Heart Healthy Lifestyle. <br /> Earth Day Celebration <br /> The Town of Cary's Earth Day Celebration will be held in conjunction with Spring Daze 2012.The theme this year is"Lead.Inspire.°and <br /> exhibits and activities will provide information about ways the Town of Cary is preserving our natural resources and the role you can play in <br /> protecting the environment.Visit each booth and learn about water conservation,recycling,stormwater,urban trees,greenways and parks, <br /> C-Tran,cooking oil recycling,and environmental volunteerism with Spruce.Don't miss the new all electric vehicle that will be on display next to <br /> the Sustainability tent.Guests that visit each booth will receive a FREE bag made from 100%recycled materials(while supplies last).Also, <br /> celebrate as Cary is named a Tree City USA town and recognized on stage near the Earth Day area. <br /> Artists in Action! <br /> See artists in action as they demonstrate their art form at the festival!This year,Spring Daze will host the Cary Clay Cooperative,the Capital <br /> Quilters Guild and the Fine Arts League of Cary.These groups of talented artists will be on hand all day showing you how their work comes to <br /> life! <br /> 1 of 2 11/27/12 9:14 AM <br />
