EXTRAORDINARY ARTISTS 2012-33 ARTS PROGRAM APPLICATION EXTRAORDINARY ARTISTS PROGRAM Goal: To provide a positive and enriching arts experience to autistic and developmentally disabled adults in our community and to celebrate their abilities and achievements through an exhibit event that is open to the community at the Extraordinary Ventures Event Center. Target: Twenty to twenty-five autistic or developmentally disabled participants in a class called "Extraordinary Artists." Strategy: To partner with Happymess Art Studios to provide the artistic teaching and development through a variety of methods and mediums To use the Extraordinary Ventures facilities to host the classes and the final event To use the EV staff and leadership to provide the administrative support and leadership To call on EV relationships to other Autism organizations for additional funding and volunteer support for the classes and exhibit event including:The Autism Society of Orange County,TEACCH,The Ireland Foundation,ARC of Orange, and RSI. To hold a six session class that coordinates with the regular b-weekly social program for the developmentally disabled held at Extraordinary Ventures called "Friday Night Live" beginning in August 2013. To frame and/or otherwise prepare work for final display. To have a final exhibit night event on Thursday, Nov 14, 2013 called "An Artful Affair" that displays and celebrates the work of the participants and other artists in the community on the Autism Spectrum.This event is open and publicized to the community in an effort to change perceptions about ability and disability. To publicize this program to the community through posters,flyers, mailing inserts, brochures, press releases and more.
