County Commissioners: Boards and Commissions Assignments <br /> Clerk to the Board Donna Baker explained the handout, including the master list, task <br /> forces, Ex-Officio, officers, representation, and then individual Board member appointments. <br /> Commissioner Nelson said that last year the Board talked about doing this a different <br /> way. He suggested looking at the way that Carrboro had done it. Donna Baker said that she <br /> looked at Carrboro, and it only has about 10-12 boards. Her impression was, as she looked at <br /> the minutes, was that she did not think that the Board wanted to pursue the way that Carrboro <br /> did it. She can bring it back up again. <br /> Commissioner Nelson said that he thought there was interest in doing it the way that <br /> Carrboro does, which is via email. <br /> Commissioner Gordon said that three new Commissioners may have new ideas. <br /> Chair Jacobs suggested doing it this way for this year, and then figuring out a better way <br /> to do it next year before there is a new Board. <br /> Commissioner Nelson said that he remembers that people were concerned that there <br /> was a history of some confrontation in terms of people wanting the same thing.
