Other primary responsibilities include <br /> development of strategic partnerships and alliances with University and other <br /> affiliated organizations, supervision of education staff, development of a <br /> comprehensive departmental business/marketing plan, management of the <br /> departmental budget, grant initiatives, participation in institution-wide management <br /> team decision-making and long term strategic planning. Plan and participate in <br /> design of children's gardens; Serve on statewide coalition for outdoor learning for <br /> early childhood; Train and supervise volunteers, college interns; Design and <br /> supervise the implementation of horticultural therapy (ht) activities; Provide <br /> consultation relative to ht programs; Participate in the ht national effort as <br /> immediate past president of the American Horticultural Therapy Program; <br /> Coordinate the public safety and accessibility efforts of a public garden; Participate <br /> in statewide health care coalitions; Teach as an adjunct UNC faculty, a graduate <br /> level therapeutic course , Fall 2010. <br /> Past experience: Planned and implemented formal and non formal educational <br /> programs for children; Developed child and family friendly outdoor spaces and <br /> educational opportunities; Developed and provided curricula-based environmental <br /> education and teacher training. <br /> 1 <br />
