Final Report Human Services Issues Forum 2007 — "Domestic Violence <br /> Hurts the Whole Community" <br /> The Board received the Final Report on the proceedings of the Human Services Issues <br /> Forum held on September 12, 2007 by the Human Services Advisory Commission (HSAC). <br /> Assistant County Manager Gwen Harvey introduced Emily Adams, Chair of the Human <br /> Services Advisory Commission. <br /> Emily Adams said that the report is in each agenda packet. She thanked all of the <br /> Commissioners that were able to join the forum — Chair Jacobs, Commissioner Carey, <br /> Commissioner Foushee, and Commissioner Gordon. She recognized her planning committee. <br /> She said that Judge Beverly Scarlett attended and spoke. There were also panel discussions <br /> with survivors and practitioners. She said that the call to action from this event has been heard <br /> and the Commission for Women is continuing on in this work. There will be an event this <br /> Saturday on domestic violence at the United Church of Chapel Hill. <br /> Chair Jacobs thanked her and the others that participated and said that he hopes that <br /> some progress can be made in dealing with this issue. <br /> 4. Consent Agenda <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Carey, seconded by Commissioner Foushee to <br /> approve those items on the consent agenda as stated below: <br /> a. Minutes <br /> The Board approved the minutes for January 29, (5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.) and February 7, <br /> 2008 as submitted by the Clerk to the Board. <br /> b. Appointments — None <br /> c. Comprehensive Plan Update —Staff/Consultant Report <br /> This item was removed and placed at the end of the consent agenda for separate consideration. <br /> d. Renewal Agreement Between Chapel Hill Training and Outreach, Inc. and Health <br /> Department for Social Worker II <br /> The Board approved an agreement renewal between Chapel Hill Training Outreach Inc. and the <br /> Health Department for the support of a Social Worker II position for the Early Head Start <br /> Program and authorized the Chair to sign subject to final review by the County Attorney. <br /> e. Agreement with Trans-Verse Inc. for Public Health Emergency Preparedness <br /> Activities <br /> The Board approved an agreement with Trans-Verse, Inc. for Public health emergency <br /> preparedness activities and authorized the Chair to sign. <br /> f. Restaurant Inspection Field Software <br />
