Many Orange County artists belong to Saxapahaw <br /> Gallery and their exhibition at the Carrboro branch Library will include the <br /> work of some of those artists. <br /> The Saxapahaw Gallery is run by volunteer artists. Recently, when the <br /> gallery moved into another building, renovation was achieved using local <br /> volunteer labor and recycled materials. <br /> Exhibition related Information is available in the relevant envelope attached <br /> to this application. <br /> Our second exhibit from late March through mid June will feature artists <br /> from FRANK Gallery (Franklin Street Artists Collective) in Chapel Hill. <br /> FRANK gallery is run by 22 member artists and shows the work of over one <br /> hundred local and regional artists. It is also a non profit organization and is <br /> heavily engaged in community outreach activities. In 2010, repurposed <br /> sculptures from the Carrboro Branch Library's Polar exhibit (partially <br /> financed by OCAC) were shown at FRANK and the revenue from their sale <br /> was ploughed back into the McDougle Middle School and Library <br /> Community thus enabling a new art project to take place. During the period <br /> of FRANK's show at the Library we are planning a joint art activity <br /> between FRANK artists and the Mc Double Middle School technology <br /> department. Information on FRANK Gallery, FRANK artists and others <br /> involved in this exhibition can be found in the relevant attached envelope <br /> Our third exhibit from mid June from mid October 2013 will feature artists <br /> from the Hillsborough Art Gallery <br /> Hillsborough Art Gallery, a collective of twenty two artists working across <br /> many different media, is owned and operated by local artists. It exhibits <br /> many different media including painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, <br /> fiber art,jewelry, glass, metal, mosaics, encaustics, enamels, watercolors <br /> and wood. At the Library they will show mostly two dimensional pieces and <br /> if possible a few three dimensional wall mounted pieces. The Library is <br /> discussing a possible workshop Jed by HAG artists—date to be arranged. <br /> Please see the attached relevant envelope for artist information and work <br /> examples <br /> Our fourth exhibition from late October through early January 2014 will <br /> showcase the end products of the Ackland Art Museum's community art <br /> programs which involve many different local artists from the community. <br /> The Ackland's External Affairs Director Amanda Hughes is also an artist <br />
