Hillsborough Sculpture Tour 2011,which opens April 16,will feature: <br /> •"Anhinga"by Harry McDaniel of Asheville <br /> •"Jack"by Jonathan Bowling of Greenville <br /> •"Joiners"by Karen Ives of Asheville <br /> •"Oakleaf Horizon"by Jim Gallucci of Greensboro <br /> •"Out of Nature"by Hanna Jubran of Grimesland <br /> •"Stranger in a Strange Land"by Charles Pilkey of Mint Hill. <br /> The tour, which opens the same day as the Hillsborough Arts Council's Arts and Crafts Show,will run through <br /> September.All sculptures will be outdoors within walking distance of downtown Hillsborough.Locations will <br /> include Burwell School Historic Site,Eagle Masonic Lodge,the Hillsborough Police Station,Turnip Patch Park, <br /> the Hillsborough/Orange County Visitors Center,and the Old Orange County Courthouse. <br /> Selecting the winning sculptures was a three-judge panel made up of Emily Kass,director of the Ackland Art <br /> Museum;Jane Tyndall,owner of Tyndall Galleries; and Tinka Jordy,sculptor and co-owner of Eno Gallery. <br /> Each winner will receive an honorarium of$750.In addition,two special awards will be announced at the tour's <br /> closing:the Judges Choice and People's Choice awards. The People's Choice Award will be based on votes by <br /> spectators who pick up ballots and maps at the Hillsborough/Orange County Visitors Center, 150 E.
