4
We will partner with Duke's Center for Documentary Studies, UNC Art and
Communication departments, the Caffboro Art Center,Through This Lens Gallery, the
educational divisions of the Ackland and Nasher Museums, the Carrack Modern Art, the
North Carolina Museum of Art, to name a few. Because we are hoping to emphasize
collaboration, the marketing and brochure will be shared with the other venues.
Through this project, we aim to set a standard and meet our goals for our non-
profit arm whose mission is to be a catalyst for sharing of ideas and inspiration through
forming partnerships between a diverse population of artists and our community.
Goals
*Attract diverse members of our community to the gallery to experience a broader
understanding of photography, not only as a technological tool for documentation, but
also as an expressive cultural vehicle for information sharing and communication.
*Provide stimulating discussion and exploration of alternative ideas and processes
*Generate excitement for the photographic arts in Chapel Hill, Orange County, and the
Triangle.
Funding Sources
FRANK Gallery
For each exhibition, FRANK routinely funds and produces a Show Card listing
participating artists and Salon events, hosts an Opening Reception, and provides a series
of Thursday evening Artist Salons. Our salaried gallery manager maintains an updated
mailing list, produces an electronic eblast Show Card, creates a newsletter, and
distributes marketing materials to area media.
Local Communitv Sponsorships
We routinely build collaborative sponsorships from our community.
This includes in-kind use of large auditoriums, reception hosting, printing and marketing.
Volunteer Sources
FRANK Artists
The artists at FRANK volunteer their services to build networking alliances,
create layout and design for the brochures and advertising, curate and install our
exhibitions, and maintain relationships with media outlets.
